Brandie Souza
Brandie Souza began her career in dance at a young age of 7. She grew up in Connecticut where she studied dance at Diane Power Dance Dimensions in Woodstock, CT. She has a well-rounded dance background consisting of tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop. Brandie enjoys performing as well as teaching. She has been actively involved in musical theater, college and high school dance teams, and choreography jobs for beauty show and talent searches.
In May of 2004 and 2005, Brandie volunteered her time to choreograph all the routines for the Springtime Festival Queens Pageant. She spends her weekends as a Siagel Dancer where she enjoys helping others to celebrate their special occasions. Brandie has been an instructor with The Dance Academy since 2004. She instructs weekly classes in tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop, and is also the choreographer for the competitive jazz teams.
Judges say Brandie’s choreography is “unique”, “creative”, “outside the box”, “fun and fantastic twists on the fundamentals”, “refreshing”. Judges comment on Brandie’s choreography because she challenges the dancers to work hard and have fun while perfecting difficult combinations. Brandie’s passion has always been dance and she is grateful for the opportunity to teach others everything she knows. She loves being able to positively impact the minds of dancers and make a difference in each of their lives.
